Silver Pagoda, Phnom Penh

The Silver Pagoda is one of the most famous and popular temples in Phnom Penh, and it was formerly known as Wat Ubosoth Ratanaram.

The official name of this spectacular temple, which is located on the south of the famous Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, is quite complicated. It is called Preah Vihear Preah Keo Morakot, which means The Temple of the Emerald-Crystal Buddha.

You can find many of the most important national treasures around here; however, not all of them are available to be viewed by visitors. Some of the most famous objects include several Buddha statues, many made with gold and diamonds, as well as the spectacular silver tiles after which the pagoda got its name.
